TICA International Virtual Show FAQ
This is not an official TICA show. This is a FUNdraising event which is for fun only, no TICA Titles or points will be awarded. Virtual Ribbons will be awarded. Funds from this show will be managed by Regional Directors, Liz Brown & Vicki Jo Harrison for disbursement to either the TICA Annual or Regions. Please refer to the Show Rules for more info.
How do I enter my cat?
You can enter your cat by visiting this link or by clicking the "Enter Here" buttons on this page and filling out the form.
- Please use one entry form per cat.
- Cats that are registered breeds accepted by TICA can be entered into Kitten, Cat, and Alter classes. These cats should be registered with a recognized association.
- Cats that fall under new breeds/advanced breeds/preliminary breeds/new traits under TICA rules can be entered into the Preliminary/New Breeds/Traits class.
- AGES: Kittens (under 8 calendar months, but at least 4 calendar months)
- AGES: Cats, Alters or Household Pets (8 calendar months or older)
- Cats without a pedigree/registration are entered into the Household Pet Adult or Household Pet Kitten classes.
- You can enter any cat in the fun rings that fit the criteria.
- What are the “Fun Rings”?
The International Show is running fun rings for the following cats:- Rainbow Bridge Pedigreed Cats: Beloved, pedigreed cats that are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge
- Rainbow Bridge Household pets: Beloved non-pedigreed cats that are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge
- Litter Match: Two or more kittens from the same litter
- Funny Felines: Cats or Kittens with funny captions or Bloopers
- Amateur Photographers: Submit your amateur photography (of your cats) for world-renowned photographers Helmi Flick, Ken Flick, Larry Johnson and Diana Starr to judge
Entry is $10/cat and the top 10 in each category will be announced
- What is the “Junior Exhibitor” portion of the competition?
Any kid under the age of 18 is encouraged to create a 3 minute or less video of yourself presenting your cat or a presentation of a breed of your choice. All of the kids’ videos will be shared publicly at the conclusion of the competition, via the TICA Virtual Cat Show 2020 page. Three judges (Amy Stadter, Chris Unangst and two additional judges) will evaluate the kids and present their top 10. Top 10 best of the best JE will get a $10 gift card.

- What do I “win”?

- Do I have to be a TICA member or my cats TICA registered?
No, you do not (but we sure do recommend it). - My cat looks like a Maine Coon/Siamese/Ragdoll/etc but does not have a pedigree or papers to prove he is one. Where do I enter it?
Your cat would be entered in HHP Kitten or Household Pet Adult classes. - What kind of pictures do you need for my entry?
TICA Classes, Required: One picture
TICA Classes, Recommended: Two to three pictures of each cat showing a close up frontal, profile and body for regular entries
Fun Rings: One PictureNotes: No humans should be identifiable in the pictures.
Your pictures should be at a reasonable size and in focus.
Refer to show rules for more info. - Can we use professional photos?
Yes, you can use photos taken by photographers if you have a profile, head and body shot with no identifiable humans in the photos.Please credit the photographer in your entry form under the QUESTIONS/COMMENTS section on the form.
- Posting on the Facebook Groups
Please do not post your entry onto the TICA Virtual Cat Shows 2020 Facebook group. - Advertising - Vendors
Vendors will be allowed to advertise on the group / page for the show once they have paid and worked with our vendor coordinator, Shauntay Burris. Pricing is $10 for vendors. Please keep spam to a minimum and post meaningful content for the audience to advertise your services, products or message. Please do not conduct direct sales on the show’s group/page. Vendors should provide their logo and web link to the organizers.

To the extent that we are able to enforce them using photos, yes. - How do we pay?
You will pay via a paypal link on the entry form (the form will take you to the Paypal shopping cart upon completion). If you do not want to pay via Paypal, you can send a check, payable to TICA Great Lakes to Liz Brown, 4899 Squaw Valley Drive, Caledonia, IL 61011. TICA Great Lakes Paypal address is TICAGLPaypal@gmail.com.All monies collected will go into a TICA Annual Fund for distribution at a later date.
- Can we ask our pet owners to enter?
PLEASE DO spread the word to your pet owners, friends and family. Anyone can enter. It would be especially welcomed to expose this initiative to people who do not ordinarily show so we can spread the word and encourage growth in the cat fancy for the future. - What will you be doing with the funds raised?
Depending on whether the 2020 TICA Annual in Washington, DC, occurs, funds will be used to offset costs or other areas of need, as determined by TICA Board members Liz Brown and Vicki Jo Harrison.
