FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
TICA SOUTHEAST
- Will I earn points/titles?
No this is NOT an official TICA show. This is a FUNdraising event which is for fun only, no TICA titles or points will be awarded. Virtual Ribbons will be awarded and discounts to the Virtual International show will be given for the top 10 of each division.
- Does my cat need to be TICA Registered/Pedigreed?
NO, This show is for ANYONE who wants to enter. If entering a Pedigreed cat it must be registered with a recognized registry and must be a TICA recognized breed but you do not have to have it registered with TICA. If you have a rescue, adopted cat, etc., you may still enter but would do so in the Household Pet division.
- Kittens - between 4 and 8 months of age
- Cats/Alters - 8 months and older of age, Alters are Spayed/Neutered registered pedigreed cats
- Household Pet Kittens – Non-registered kittens between 4 – 8 months of age
- Household Pets – Non-registered cats of 8 month or older of age – should be spayed/neutered
- You may enter kittens/cats of ANY age/type in ANY of the FUN rings
- What are the "Fun Rings"?
The Southeast region is having 3 "Fun" rings.
- Littermates: This is for kittens/cats that are from the same litter. Please include 2-3 pics of the ENTIRE group together (not individual pictures)
- Cat-ptions: Pics of your kitty with a saying – basically a Meme (Only one photo/graphic is required for this)
- Rainbow Bridge: Kitties of any age/breed that have passed away
- Can I enter more than one Division with the same kitten/cat?
Yes, Since there is no way to really police this and since it’s for FUN/Fundraising… you can enter one kitten in several divisions as long as you have pics of it at each stage… so if you have pics of you kitty as a kitten and as an adult… you can enter it in both. You can also enter that same kitten/cat in the fun ring.
- Can I enter more than one show?
YEP… since we’re trying to help the regions and shows that lost money due to the pandemic… you can enter one show or ALL of them. The choice is yours, and while we encourage you to at least support your regional show, you do not have to. Not sure what region you belong to? You can check here: https://tica.org/resources/our-association/regions. Please check the info for EACH region you enter as the rules/fees may vary show to show.
- My cat looks like a Maine Coon/Siamese/Ragdoll/etc. but does not have a pedigree or papers to prove he is one. Where do I enter it?
Your cat would be entered in Household Pet (HHP) Kitten or Household Pet Adult classes.
- What are the fees?
- Fees for all Regular rings is $10/entry PER CLASS (so if you enter as a kitten and as an Alter, you would owe $20)
- Fees for all Fun Rings is $5/per ring
- Fees for Junior Exhibitor ring is $5
- What is a Junior Exhibitor ring?
Any child under the age of 18 is encouraged to create a 3 minute or less video of yourself presenting your cat or a presentation of a breed of your choice. All of the kids’ videos will be shared publicly at the conclusion of the competition, via the TICA Southeast FB Page (unless otherwise told to the entry clerk).
- How do I enter my Kitten/Cat?
You will submit one entry form per entry (even if entering the same kitten/cat in multiple rings.) You can enter your Kitten/Cat by visiting this link and filling out the form: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/ce678dzc6D14Se1. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Show Organizer: Sally Patch @ owhlfold@msn.com or Entry Clerk Teresa Carroll- Childers @ Teresa6cc@aol.com The entry form includes spots to upload your pictures for your entry(ies).
- What kind of pictures do you need for my entry?
- At least 2 - 3 pictures of each entry (other than Fun rings) showing a close-up frontal, profile and body for all regular entries, and 1 – 2 pictures for fun rings.
- Entries should be as you’d present in a regular show ring – groomed, clean ears/eyes etc.
- No humans or identifiable things should be seen in the pictures. Please try to have the background as clutter-free as possible so the focus of the picture is the kitty.
- Your pictures should be a reasonable size and in focus.
- Remember since the judges can’t handle the cats, all they can go off of is the pictures you submit so make sure you use ones that present your kitty at its best.
- You can use self-taken pictures or professional ones. If using professional ones, the photographer must be given credit/identified. If their name isn’t watermarked on the picture used please identify the photographer in the comment section.
- Are the breed standard rules going to apply?
To the extent that we are able to enforce them using photos, yes.
- Can we ask our pet owners/friends to enter?
PLEASE DO spread the word to your pet owners, friends and family. Anyone can enter, and this is a great way to bring in new people to the Fancy.
- How do we pay?
You will pay via a PayPal link on the entry form (the form will take you to the PayPal shopping cart upon completion). The Southeast PayPal address is: SEREGIONTRES@GMAIL.COM. - What will you be doing with the Funds raised?
The funds raised will be distributed to the clubs in need, who had significant losses due to their shows being postponed/canceled. The rest will go to the Southeast Region to help balance the Annual TICA rebate that will be lessened due to shows not being held. Money from the International Entries will go to the club hosting this year's show to help with the cost.
