This is not an official TICA show. This is a FUNdraising event which is for fun only, no TICA Titles or points will be awarded.

You do not need to be TICA registered to enter.

If you’re showing a pedigreed cat it must be registrable with a recognized organization and must be a TICA recognized breed. If you do not have registration on your kitty or if it is a non-pedigreed, it would be shown in the Household Pet Kitten/Cat class. Virtual Ribbons will be awarded and Free/Discounted entries to the Virtual International will be awarded to the top 10 of each division. Funds from this show will be managed by the Regional Director, Brenda Russo. It is intended to help those clubs who lost money related to Covid-19 cancellations.

This show will have 6 judges. 4 judges will judge the Kitten, Cat, Alter, HHP (Household Pet), HHPK (Household Pet Kitten), and PNB (Preliminary New Breed)/ANB (Advanced New Breed)/New Trait categories. One will judge the Fun Rings. One judge will judge Juniors. Each judge will submit their top 10 for finals. Virtual ribbons will be awarded to all finalists. (Other prizes may be awarded, to be announced later. )

This show will open to entries on Monday, April 6, 2020 and close to entries on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at MIDNIGHT Eastern Standard Time. Presentation of top 10 finals will be held on this page on Saturday & Sunday May 9 and May 10 with more specific information later. Fees are to be paid promptly after entering. Information on how to submit your fees is on the entry form.

FEES:

$10 per regular entry
$5 for Congress entry OR $1 with purchase of regular entry (per cat)
$5 for Junior Exhibitor entry

If you are submitting multiple entries and would like to just pay one Paypal payment for all your entries when you are finished, just cancel out of the Paypal screen and make your payment later after all your entries have been submitted. IS THIS AN OFFICIAL TICA SHOW?
It is NOT an official TICA show. No points or titles will be awarded. These shows are being done for two reasons: to keep our fancy engaged and it is a fundraiser. It will be judged by TICA judges and virtual ribbons will be awarded and some additional prizes will be given. Please refer to show rules for more information.
I AM NEW TO THE CAT FANCY!

Showing cats is educational and a lot of fun! We would love to engage new people in the cat fancy. A lot of terms, procedures may be unfamiliar to those that have not shown cats before. If you have questions or is anything you do not understand, please do not hesitate to contact us with questions.
HOW DO I ENTER MY CAT?
You can enter your cat by filling out the form linked from this page.

One entry form per cat.
Mid-Atlantic Entry Deadline: Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Midnight, EST.
TRADITIONAL CLASSES: Cats that are registered breeds accepted by TICA can be entered into Adult, Alter and Kitten classes. These cats should have a pedigree from any recognized association.
PRELIMINARY NEW BREED/ ADVANCED NEW BREED & NEW TRAITS: Cats that fall under advanced breeds/preliminary breeds/new traits under TICA rules can be entered into the Preliminary New Breeds, Advanced New Breed or New Traits class.
HOUSEHOLD PETS: Cats without a pedigree are entered into the Household Pet Adult or Kitten classes.
MA – OTHER CLASSES: You can enter any cat in the Congress classes that fit the description. Please note these classes may vary by region.

Mid-Atlantic Other Classes:
- Juniors- for exhibitors under 18 years of age.
- Litters under 4 months – Entire litters under 2-4 months of age, will be divided into 2 classes TICA pedigreed and non-pedigreed
- Golden Girls & Grumpy Old Men – For cats 8 years and older, will be divided into 2 classes TICA pedigreed and non-pedigreed
- Sunday Best – Any age, pedigreed and non-pedigreed, cat wearing an outfit, only one photo required.
- Rainbow Bridge – Any age, pedigreed/non-pedigreed: cat that has passed away, only one photo required.

DO I HAVE TO BE A TICA MEMBER OR MY CATS TICA REGISTERED?

No! As long as your breed is accepted by TICA it can be entered without TICA registration. If it is not accepted by TICA, your cat can be entered in HHP classes. You do not have to live in a region covered by TICA nor do you or your cats have to be registered with TICA to enter.

MY CAT LOOKS LIKE A MAINE COON / SIAMESE / RAGDOLL, etc. BUT DOES NOT HAVE A PEDIGREE OR PAPERS TO PROVE HE IS ONE. WHERE DO I ENTER IT?
Your cat would be entered in HHP Adult or Kitten classes.
WHAT KIND OF PICTURES DO YOU NEED FOR MY ENTRY?

At least 2 - 3 pictures of each cat showing a close up frontal, profile and body.

Some congresses will only require 1 photo and will be noted.
No humans should be identifiable in the pictures.
Photos should be good quality resolution, and in focus.

Photos should also be recent and representative of what your cat looks like now, except for the Rainbow Bridge and Sunday Best.

CAN WE USE PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS?
Yes, you can use photos taken by photographers if you have a profile, head and body shot with no identifiable humans in the photos. Credit the photographer in your entry form under the QUESTIONS/COMMENTS section on the form.
WHAT SHOWS MAY I ENTER?
You can enter multiple shows, all the shows, one show, in your region or in another region.
Each region’s show may have some differences in how they conduct the show and judging. They may have different congresses / fun classes.

POSTING ON FACEBOOK GROUPS
Please do not post your entry onto the TICA Virtual Cat Shows 2020 Facebook group. Posting has been deactivated in some region’s groups as well, to prevent identification of your cats to judges. Once the shows commence, your entries will be uploaded by the entry clerk to the applicable albums in the group/page. You can view your entries in the album but please do not comment to identify your cat. Judging will take place from these albums.
Please feel free to share this virtual show FB group to help us gain interest for the virtual shows.
ADVERTISING – SPONSORS and VENDORS
Approved Sponsors and Vendors will be allowed to advertise on the group / page for each show they are affiliated with. Please keep spam to a minimum and post meaningful content for the audience to advertise your services, products or message. Please do not conduct direct sales on the show’s group/page. Sponsors should provide their logo and web link to the organizers. Vendors ads are free with a donated prize for our exhibitors.
ARE THE BREED STANDARDS GOING TO APPLY?

Using photos only, there may be some limitations, however, judges will apply breed standards to the best of their ability for the applicable classes.

CAN CAT PAGES JOIN THE GROUP AND ENTER AS THEIR PAGE?

No, this would identify the entry to the judges.
CAN WE ASK OUR PET OWNERS TO ENTER?
Yes, please spread the word to your pet owners, friends and family. Anyone can enter. It would be especially welcomed to expose this initiative to people who do not ordinarily show so we can spread the word and encourage growth in the cat fancy for the future.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING WITH THE FUNDS RAISED?

The funds raised will be distributed to those who have had a significant loss due to COVID-19, animal welfare, and the TICA Regional or Annual shows.
